Pegah Kazemi is a textile artist and creative practitioner working across material, art and strategy.
Her practice began through fashion, independent projects, gallery work and workshops, and gradually developed alongside professional experience in branding, management and creative strategy.
An MBA further shaped the way she approaches ideas, systems and decision-making, allowing strategic thinking to become part of her creative process rather than something separate from it.
TEXTILE AS A LANGUAGE
Textile has become the central language of her work.
Through cutting, repairing, repeating, and rearranging familiar forms, she allows materials to move between fabric, garment, object, installation, and visual narrative.
Her practice explores transformation, imperfection, memory and the relationship between material and the body.
MOVEMENT & CULTURE
Having lived, studied and worked across Tehran, London, Istanbul, Vancouver, New York, Toronto, Shanghai, Dubai and Basel, Pegah’s perspective has been deeply shaped by movement and cultural exchange.
Different cities, visual languages and ways of living continue to influence how she thinks about objects, clothing, identity and everyday life.
Curiosity, adaptation and transformation have become central to the way she works.
Currently based in Basel, Pegah develops textile works, objects and visual projects while collaborating across art, fashion, culture and brand environments.
Alongside her creative practice, she brings experience in project management, coordination and cross-functional collaboration — connecting creative ideas with structured execution.
Textile is not only a material in Pegah’s work. It is a way of thinking.
She is interested in what happens when a familiar form is given a new purpose, when an object changes its context, or when something unfinished becomes the beginning of something else.
