CIRCLES

My work often begins with a question:

How can an image become a form, and how can that form become wearable?

For Circles, I began with a face. I reduced it to its simplest geometry until the image became a flat circular surface.

Then the body entered the process.

Two openings transform the circle into something wearable. From there, the form is no longer fixed. It can grow, shrink, gather, stretch, lengthen or change its geometry entirely.

A circle can become a vest.
A larger circle can become a dress.
Its edge can be gathered.
Its proportions can shift.
Tomorrow, the circle might become a square or a triangle.

I am less interested in designing a finished garment than in creating a simple system that can keep transforming.

The circle is the starting point, not the final shape.
