SPACE DESIGN

My approach to space begins in the same way as my work with textile and objects: by asking how an idea can become a physical experience.

I am interested in the relationship between space, material, objects and identity — and how small interventions can completely change the way a place is experienced.

In a Vancouver-based hospitality project, I reimagined two existing hotel rooms as boutique lifestyle spaces as part of a wider rebranding concept.

Rather than redesigning the rooms from the ground up, I worked through spatial interventions, objects, material choices and styling to create a new atmosphere and a stronger sense of character.

The project became an exploration of how brand identity can move beyond graphics and communication and become something physical — something that can be entered, touched and experienced.

For me, space design is not only about interiors.

It is about giving an idea a place to live.
